Backend Developer

Frontend Developer

Position Snapshot:
As a Software Engineer you will extend and support our core software platform Groupdesk. You will help us deliver high-quality software across multiple platforms that positively impacts the travel industry. Your colleagues will depend on you for assistance and support on a wide range of technical needs. Some very simple that require only sharing ‘how-to’ knowledge and some very complex that will require research and project management skills. The role will require you to work some evenings and weekends for a critical issue or off-hour maintenance. Our team prioritized work-life balance with flexible hours, work from home days, and a great vacation policy.

What you’ll do:

  • Take technical ownership over public and private facing eCommerce web apps powered by a software platform created by your peers. 
  • Work directly with product owners, key stakeholders, and external teams to extend the functionality of the app. .
  • Collaborate with Frontend, Backend, Product, and Customer Success Teams
  • Integrate with third-party payment processing APIs
  • Focus on delivering well-designed, maintainable software backed by unit tests
  • Perform automated deployments of multiple applications to AWS Kubernetes.
  • Create and maintain fast, flexible, and functional interfaces in Angular

What you bring:

  • 1+ years professional experience in frontend software development
  • Working knowledge of modern front-end development and related frameworks
  • Exceptionally quick learner of new languages, technologies, and business domains.
  • Solid grasp of security best practices and ability to make strategic recommendations
  • A passion for technology and solving problems with code
  • Knowledge of Amazon Web Services, and/orPCI Compliance is a bonus

Talent Manager

As Talent Manager you will work closely with our CEO and CTO to help identify, screen, and onboard new talent across teams.  As a trusted partner to the entire team, you will ensure we maintain a consistent pipeline of qualified and representative candidates who can help achieve our business goals.  You will gain a deep understanding of Groupdesk’s business goals, plan design, and dev strategy. You will work with each team lead to create screening, qualifications, and interview processes to help maximize our time as well as that of our candidates. Your level of service excellence will be demonstrated through creating strong candidate referrals, a background in achieving and surpassing goals, and additional KPI’s.

If you possess a track record of building a long-term talent pipeline relations, a love of complex project management, and desire to help revolutionize group travel technology, we would love to talk to you.

Responsibilities:

    • Create and execute a recruitment process
    • Actively network at, attend, and recruit from events
    • Promote and improve the Groupdesk culture and team
    • Work with all teams to plan and understand recruitment needs and timelines
    • Form strong partnerships with internal teams (Sales, Operations, Product, Engineering, and Support) in order to drive timely recruitment
    • Work closely with the On-boarding teams to ensure plan design contracts and forms are completed and submitted on time
    • Prepare all onboarding materials and resources
  • Foster referenceable candidates who are openly willing to speak about their positive experience with Groupdesk

Required Skills / Experience / Education:

    • 2+ years as in Sales, HR, L & D or any similar role with KPI’s or similar role
    • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly
    • Ability to create and execute a recruitment process within the first 60 days
    • Project management experience on complex projects lasting 3+ months
    • Ability to appropriately set expectations with stakeholders
    • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
    • Ability to gain client trust and build successful strategic candidate and community relationships
    • Comfortable networking 2-3 days/week at events, conferences etc to help attract talent to our team
    • Comfortable leading live and virtual interviews
    • Comfortable networking and sourcing talent across many industries, including development, technology, and travel
    • Ability to handle aggressive deadlines, work cross-functionally, and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
    • Interest in improving the travel and group travel industry
    • Desire to work in an environment of constant learning and self-improvement.
  • Travel industry experience preferred but not mandatory
